The original adjustable offset CNC drag knife (release date June 2020).  Unique mechanical parts are Made in the USA.  Exceptions are fasteners (various) and bearings (Japan).  Now with high strength 17-4 Stainless shank!  By our estimates, we spend more on our bearing/shank subassembly than our competitors do on their entire tool.

** Thank you for finding the source of the best drag knives on the market.  We recently had this model knocked off.  We encourage you to not support the cheap knock off (parts are most certainly made in China). While cheaper, is at best 1/2 the strength of our model.   It is designed for the best performance and built to last. Made in Fort Worth.  Thank you**

Adjustable Offset: 2-12mm (~1/16 - 1/2”)

Blades: Any standard sized utility blade.  This lets you use HSS, Tin coated or Carbide edged blades. (blade not included)

Set screw is used to recall offset position between blade changes.

Body: Anodized 6061 Aluminum.  62mm long (not including blade stick out)

Bearings:  Dual 7/8” diameter ball bearings offer best balance between radial load capacity and minimal overall length.  Bearings have additional supports to allow high cutting forces.

Shank: 17-4 Stainless (fully hardened).  3/8”, 5/16"(8mm) or 1/4" diameter options. 1/4" shank is for light duty use. Select the largest diameter when possible.  36mm exposed for collet gripping.  17-4 offers extreme strength and corrosion resistance.  These are turned in the hardened state (here in TX) to give the most precision in the end product. Unlike commonly used dowel pins (competitors), our shanks do not preload the bearings excessively and thereby offering the best spinning performance and lifetime.  Our bearing are also supported in the Z direction and do not rely on friction alone to maintain the tool's structure.

Clamp: 7075 AL (high strength). High strength material will not fail after repeated use.  M5 bolt with steel reinforced threads in the body.  [Threads directly into 6061 Aluminum will fail quickly with repeated use. Reinforcing the threads with a steel insert is standard industry practice to correct for this]  With this model, you can clamp the blade securely and it is designed to last.  The clamp is also lightly spring loaded open for added convenience.  When you untighten the clamp, it will open via the spring to assist in changing the blade.
